Junior Lessons

Bradford Bulldogs Ice Hockey Club is one of the leading junior clubs in the UK, winning many awards, tournaments and trophies along the way. The Club is now looking for new recruits, particularly for the U10s and U12s squads!

Beginners’ ice hockey lessons are held every Wednesday 5.30 – 6.15pm, to assist children to work towards joining the team, improve their physical abilities and take part in a sport that has a fantastic team spirit.

Players must be aged under 16 years and be able to skate to a basic standard. Players will need their own skates (boots can be borrowed for the first few sessions) but helmet and stick hire is included.

Qualified coaches guide children through the basics of skating, balance and agility before moving on to puck control, passing, shooting and small area games.

Cost per lesson is only £5.00. There’s no need to book, just turn up!

    over 55 years old!

In January 1966 Mecca Leisure Limited opened the ice rink in Bradford under the name of the Silver Blades Ice Rink, it was reputed to be “The finest rink in the world”, with coloured lighting in the barriers, sparkling chandeliers over the ice, and a plush bar and restaurant. The resplendently dressed skaters were entertained with organ music. The opening gala at the rink had performances by British skaters who had just returned from the World Championships, they included Sally Anne Stapleford, John Curry and ice dancers Bernard Ford and Diane Towler.
