Government Announcement

Following the latest government announcement which outlined the lifting of restrictions for leisure facilities including ice rinks, we are delighted to confirm that we will be re-opening to our customers on Saturday 1st August.

Keeping You Safe

Your health and safety is our biggest priority which is why we have carefully planned a phased approach to re-opening our rink and facilities.

We’ve been working hard to get the rink ready for your return. Once we re-open we’ll be making sure we’re clean, safe and socially distanced so that you can skate in a safe and comfortable environment.

Changes We’ve Made

  • New ice schedule to allow for better social distancing and cleanliness
  • Increased and improved cleaning and sanitisation
  • Reduced session capacities
  • Hand sanitisation stations in keys areas
  • New signage with guidance and rules on how to stay safe
  • Distance markings and one-way systems
  • Screens in interaction areas
  • No skate hire or café
  • Designated staff to ensure safety measures are adhered to

What We Expect From You

  • Maintain social distancing and observe all government guidance
  • Make yourself aware of the rink rules
  • Bring your own skates, there won’t be any skate hire to start with
  • Wash your hands regularly, use hand sanitiser stations or bring your own
  • Consider the wearing of masks and other PPE
  • Be considerate to others at all times

Public Sessions

Our public sessions will commence from 1st August. Please see our website for the amended time table. Numbers will be limited to 50 people to start with and skate hire will not be available so you will need your own skates. Skating aids will not be in use and the café will not be open but there will be a small selection of confectionary available from the box office.

We will review these restrictions weekly and update our website as soon as any changes are made.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a booking system but we are working hard to create one. For now, you will be able to turn up and queue but you must maintain social distancing rules, floor markings will help.

Once in the building please remember to wash/sanitise your hands regularly. Abide by all government and rink safety rules and pay attention to staff instructions and signage. On ice, we will still require you to maintain social distancing and expect you to follow all ice rules.

Patch Sessions

Figure skating patch sessions will commence from 1st August. Please speak to your coach regarding booking a session. Patches will be limited to 20 skaters and there will be strict rules to govern the use of patch ice which your coach will make you aware of.

There will be no patch ticket system so all skaters will be required to use a season ticket with a direct debit payment in advance. The season ticket has been reduced to £30 but no longer includes public session skating for the time being.

Guest Coaches

We recognise that not all rinks are in a position to open straight away so we have created a temporary guest coach patch. For details and booking please email andy@icetime.org.

Clubs

We are working hard with our clubs to create a safe return to ice sports. Please liaise with your club for details on when and how they will return.

Lessons

Unfortunately there will be no SkateUK, Skate-tots or coffee morning lessons to start with. We will review this weekly and reintroduce when we feel it is safe to do so. Adult beginners hockey will commence from 3rd August but numbers will be strictly limited and participants must book on through the box office. Lessons will be carried out in stations with limited activities.

We hope to welcome you back soon for a safe and fun skate!
